"Life on the Playground"

Hi there,

I’m releasing a new song every Tuesday from now until my new EP Heavy Light comes out on 4.5.22. The first one is called "Beefcake".

The second one is called “Life on the Playground.” Listen to it here.

A few years after my dad died, I had a dream where we were together, in the present, in my childhood home. My waking life had been a dream; the dream was real life. I had a deep, profound feeling of relief and deliverance, the crushing weight of grief I had borne since his loss was suddenly lifted. Yet, even though I felt awash in this realization, I had a sense I needed to tread softly through so as not to shatter the new reality I’d awoken to.

I play guitars and sing on this song, supported by Andrew Daly Frank on bass, Ben Wagner on drums, and Ian Wayne on synthesizers. It was produced by Ian Wayne and Andrew Daly Frank, engineered by Ian Wayne and Andrew Daly Frank, and mastered by Mike Gillilian at Giltone Mastering.

Love,

Charlie
